Quickstart
-
Pick what to record
Choose a screen or a single window. Turn on your camera if you want a bubble in the corner.
-
Just do the thing
Work as you normally would. Lumen follows your cursor and clicks in the background and stays out of the way — it minimizes while recording.
-
Export and share
Stop with Ctrl+Shift+2 (⌘⇧2 on macOS). Preview the zooms, tweak if you like, and export the finished video.

Tips for a clean first take
Section titled “Tips for a clean first take”- Screens and windows both get Lumen’s cursor and cursor-follow zooms on macOS, Windows and Linux (Xorg). On Windows, keep a recorded window where it is: Lumen records the area it covered when you started.
- On Linux, use an Xorg session for the best cursor tracking. Wayland blocks global pointer access; zooms then come from screen activity instead.
- Keep the system cursor out of the way of important UI; Lumen draws its own overlay in the export.
